This authentic and charming Mongolian Yurt sits in its own river meadow, surrounded by The Black Mountains, in the Llanthony Valley.  A wonderfully relaxed way to get back to nature, in style.


One double bed, (with two single futon beds if required). Comfortable chairs and tables make this a perfect bolt-hole.  A woodburner will keep you warm on the coldest nights.

This enchanting Shepherd’s Hut houses a perfectly formed kitchen, with a gas hob, and sink. Spring water supply.

The Shepherd’s Hut also has a simple but wonderfully hot shower, (heated by a gas water heater).

compost loo

An eco friendly compost loo is pleasant to use and situated close by.

fire pit

To warm your nights there is a good fire pit, so you can sit out and admire the star lit sky.

There is a terracotta and sand fridge for your use, and the icy cold mountain River Honddu makes a perfect place to put unopened milk, meat and bottles to keep cool.


Changeover days are Friday or Monday

Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome – there are free range chickens, sheep and ponies at Llwyn-on.  Dogs must not be let into the yurt if muddy and wet, and never left alone in the yurt (surcharge of £20 per dog).

Bedding provided for the double bed. Please bring your own towels, and bedding for children (can accommodate up to 2 children).

Pots, pans, plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses, tea-lights, torches, matches, washing up liquid, tea towels, rubbish bags and loo paper all provided

A starter quantity of logs is provided. There is a saw and sawing horse if you would like to saw yourself more firewood at no extra costs.  Or there are ready-cut extra logs (£8 per basket)

Mountain River is perfect for a quick dip (and to keep things cool). Small children will need to be supervised as the river is fast flowing, especially after rain.
